When my husband and I celebrated our honeymoon, we opted for a month in Europe. One of the towns we visited along the way was a beautiful place called Orvieto. Known to Italians as the “green heart of Italy”, it is lesser known to tourists and is centrally located between Rome and Florence. It’s location, beauty and rich Etruscan history made it a must on our list of places to see.
I recently came across some stunning pictures of a wedding that Artfool (now named Matthew Robbins designs) designed and executed in Orvieto. Having been to this beautiful place, I think they did a wonderful job of capturing the essence of this magical Italian town.

I quite like the idea behind these thoughtful monogrammed vases by Etsy seller MaidOfClay. Perfect for personalized centerpieces, thank yous or gifts. Each 4-1/2″ – 5 inch high vase is priced at $48 USD.

How beautiful would these Norberto Moretti Vasovolante (left) glass teardrops look as a backdrop or wall divider. You can fill them with virtually anything – just get creative. And his bud vases (right) are divine.

So earlier this month, I posted (with glee, I might add) a great alternative to cupcakes. There are so many wonderful sweets out there, it’s a shame that cupcakes have taken the spotlight for so long. Not to be overlooked are my all time favorite Spanish treats. Many a morning, in Spain, I sat at cafes dipping Churros into a warm bowl full of decadent Chocolate.
I nearly flipped when I saw Springwise’s post on Xooro (pronounced Sure-Oh). Holy cow, if you can make it through the flash intro on their site without passing out in a pool of your own saliva, well, kudos to you. With flavors like Maple Bacon, Triple Chocolate, Turkish Hazelnut and Mango…these are not your average Churros.
Currently located in Santa Monica and West Hollywood, they have plans for expansion into Orlando, San Antonio, Santa Monica and San Diego. I’ll be counting the days until they creep their way North.
