You know, it must be something about standing upside down all day that makes Aussies so creative ;) I’m constantly amazed by the wonderful ideas that come out of this part of the world. One such wonder is PhotoboothTM – the world’s first fully portable, high resolution, digital, architecturally designed, part inflatable photobooth. Although out of breath after I mention this product to others (it is, after all, a mouth full), it deserves to be talked about. For more info, contact via their site.

I fell in love with Lauren Venell’s handmade DIY wedding invites. She proves that budgets shouldn’t stifle creativity. If I was on the receiving end of one of her invitation creations, I think I may well have been overcome with giddiness. Totally original, utterly whimsical and wonderfully functional – they set the tone for the event.
Not one to be overwhelmed by the dreaded DIY word, every detail of Lauren’s wedding was devine. This wedding makes me want to say “I do” all over again.

Another amazing benefit of Twitter – finding beautiful inspiration. I came across Kelvin Photographer’s tweet yesterday. You see, he was the commissioned photographer for ISES Arizona’s monthly meeting featuring Design Master David Merrell of LA-Based An Original Occasion (and author of

Today was the start of the Special Event Show’s educational sessions. I had the pleasure of sitting in on Vok Dams’ CEO, Colja Dam’s seminar on Trends in events 2009. It was a highly intelligent session focused on strategy and peppered with innovative products. One of which was B[EYE]T, an incredible “live communication” technology for the dining experience.
As Colja stated in his seminar, in our youth we are constantly engaged and interested because we experience new things all the time. As we grow older, new experiences become more and more rare. Our challenge as event professionals is to find ways to fascinate and enchant our guests. B[EYE]T achieves just this by creating interactive theatre from an otherwise standard dining table. Moving visuals, text and logos are projected on tables to captivate, communicate and connect with guests.
I highly recommend that you view the videos on their website, as static images don’t do this technology justice (you’ll find the videos under IMPRESSIONS).
By nature of its benefits, this technology is meant for custom applications. Please visit B[EYE]T’s website for more product information.

Award-winning multimedia artist, skin illustrator, photographer and sculptor – how ever you refer to her, Emma Hack is a talent. Although based in Australia, Emma’s work is commissioned from all four corners of the Earth.
Her 2008 wallpaper collection is incredible – painted models becoming one with their patterned backdrops. This effect would be an incredible show-stopper at an event.

A few days ago I came across couture photographers Red Leaf Studios on Flickr. I was so impressed by their ability to convey a mood, capture an emotion and tell a story, I just had to share some of their photographs with you.
