I am so happy to announce that my good friend Ruth Moyte won the Event Solutions Spotlight Award for Planner of the Year! Ruth, I wish I could have been there with you in Miami. Please have a Mimosa for me and do a celebratory jig on top of Mangos’ bar. Can’t wait to see you in Atlanta in January!

I was browsing through Flickr and came across the following pictures by isesmsp of the ISES Event World opening night party at the Montreal Science Center. In all their brilliance, Decor & More designed a clean, contemporary and refreshing venue space…the perfect setting for schmoozing. Congratulations on a fantastic evening, Leslee, Dan, Bryan + team.

I’m so happy to share the news that I’m back from Montreal with a new Esprit Award in hand! Regal Tent Productions won the prestigious Best Industry Innovation Award for the 3D AutoCAD Animation we created for an ivy league University’s gala.
Last winter we were contacted by the University to participate in a pitch to provide temporary structures for their massive event. We knew that we would be competing against 2 good contenders: their incumbent and the largest conglomerate in all of North America. We knew that our creativity and innovative thinking could win us the business, but we wanted a unique way to help our client “experience” our ideas.
We started on a journey to help bring our vision to life. Unlike many software programs available to planners that enable the user to create a virtual environment, as a tent rental company (with proprietary inventory) there were no tools readily available to us. So, we decided to create something from scratch.
It took us over a month to create our 3-dimensional movie from the client’s supplied topographical CAD files, but the end result gave our clients the ability to experience our proposed event structure just like a guest would.
I am pleased and honored to say that we not only won the ISES award, but we secured the business with our client.

I’m excited to tell you that I’ll be heading up to Montreal August 15 – 19, 2007 for ISES EventWorld. Regal Tent Productions has been nominated for an Esprit Award |Best Industry Innovation| for the 3-dimensional AutoCAD animation we produced for a massive ivy-league university event (taking place this November – stay tuned). We were honored to win in this category last year for a proprietary structure (with 7.5m / 26 ft side legs!) we manufactured for an incredible H&M fashion event in the heart of Central Park.
I will not be able to post regularly during this time, but will promptly get back to posting when I return.
