This image of the fabulous Tord Boontje’s book was so inspiring. I’d love to create an invite using punched holes instead of ink.

Unfortunately office design is seen more as a luxury than a necessity. But in reality a well designed office promotes employee creativity, happiness, pride and effectiveness (among a myriad of other benefits).
Below are some of my favorite office designs. But before you get concerned that I’m suggesting a big budget redesign, simply get inspired by some of the most well-thought out spaces. Based on my research, I’ve decided to paint one wall in our meeting room with black chalkboard paint (instead of having whiteboards). Simple, but effective.

I’m in love with this retro-inspired installation for Piaget’s black-and-white lounge at Film Independent’s Spirit Awards by Larry Abel / De-signs. Such a shame that this beautiful decor was dismantled after the event.

I’m simply inspired by these images of antiquated baskets, plates and lace.

. books with custom designed covers are perfectly on-theme for a novel-based concept. They also make a wonderful take-away after the event.

I’ve been singing that song in my head all day: “It’s the most wonderful time…of the year. Ding, dong, ding…”. After all, the Interior Design Show has come to Toronto’s Direct Energy Centre again. Full of design inspiration and informative talks by some of Canada’s leading creative gurus, it’s a show not to be missed. I had planned to attend the gala this evening, but proposals and emails have kept me glued to my computer. I will, however, be visiting the show this weekend. If you’re lucky enough to attend yourself, you may spot Kim Vallee, Moco Loco, or a plethora of other design hounds on the show floor.
