Congratulations to everyone who was nominated for the 2009 EventProfs Blog Awards! As you know, all nominated blogs were announced and voting was opened to the public to vote on their favorite blog in each category.
Our goal with the awards was to create a platform to introduce new and not-so-new blogs to event professionals. Judging by the number of votes cast – over 1,200 in total, I’d say we were successful!

I guess this is kind of like my blog version of an Out of Office Alert. I’m off to Trinidad to speak at Eventology TT. Got my bags packed (check) and my presentations complete (check). I look forward to getting back into the blogging swing of things when I return. So, stay tuned for the announcement of the Eventprofs Blog Awards Winners!

How exciting! Our good friends at Brother Canada have offered up a super duper giveaway. For those of you who thrive on organization, here’s a contest for you. Simply tell us why you would love to win a P-Touch Labeller by writing in the comments section below {be as creative as you’d like!}. A comment will be randomly selected and the winner will receive their own shiny new labeller! But don’t wait…this contest will close on September 29th, 2009 @ 5:00 p.m. EDT.
How the winner will be selected
Using Research Randomizer, I will input the total # of comments submitted below. Research Randomizer will then issue a random number. If, for example, the number is 4, the 4th comment (in chronological order) will be awarded the prize.
I will announce the winner on my blog on September 30th – so please keep your eyes peeled.

And by the way, the fruit fly sign worked. I haven’t seen a one.
Now although my projects were a bit tongue in cheek, rest assured I’ll be re-labelling my files, my drawers, my shoe boxes, my hobby boxes, the tupperware tubs in my basement (I have no idea what’s in those).
Question: Have you ever used a labeller? If so, what’s the most creative project you’ve ever done?

The EventProfs Blog Awards were created to help bring awareness to the many great blogs within our small events and meetings community. I was blown away not only by the number of blogs that were nominated, but by the quality of the entrants.
As the rules stated we allowed a maximum of 6 entries in each category. I’m pleased to say that in 3 of the categories we had far more than 6 entrants! As a result, I’d like to introduce you to the pre-judging panel.

Comprised of 5 industry segment experts (plus li’l ‘ol me), they reviewed each of the entrants to determine the top 6 in each category.
…aaand…The results are in! Congratulations to everyone who entered and good luck to all of the nominees. In no particular order…
