from blogger . to author

Yet another cool idea via Springwise!
Kidmondo, the uber amazing online baby journal has teamed up with Baby Chapters to allow Mom bloggers to select their favorite blog stories and publish them in a beautiful (and durable) hardcover book.

I know, I know, blah, blah, baby. What does that have to do with me? I smell a business idea…I’m hoping that very soon bloggers will be able to easily create their very own hardcover books of their tips and tales…for their own enjoyment.

Love the idea, but I am curious as to the legal issues someone would run into with photo copyrights. It’s one thing to post a photo on a blog and link back to the photographer who owns the copyright. It would be another all together to print those photos, especially if the plan is to resell the blog book.

    Hey Liene,
Totally agree. I should have ended the post with”…for their own enjoyment” ;-)
I know it would make it’s way onto my coffee table.

Oh, yes that idea is a lovely one indeed! I agree, we’d have to definitely make sure the pictures were our own…to avoid any issues. However, if you ask me, that’s not a bad idea in itself, it would force us to use even more creativity!

Thank you for always being so inspiring…

    Cheers!

    Jaime,
Great! I hope to see some Jaime-originals on your blog some time soon ;-D

Springwise looks like a great resource. To print your “non-baby blogs” as you mentioned, you may want to check out Blurb.com.
here’s a link to their blog printing section – http://www.blurb.com/create/book/blogbook

    Best, Rose

    Rose,
That’s fantastic…I love it! Thank you for sharing. I might just have to do a follow up on that one.
