chapeau de gateau . and 6 degrees of separation

Yes, I know – you’ve probably read about the fabulous Chapeau de gateau via a number of other wedding-centric blogs. Proprietor, Alison Dawson, with her background in fine arts and textile design, has created a business around couture handmade cake toppers made from Mokuba ribbons. Think custom colours, patterns and designs. Think ooohs & aaahs.

So, next comes the 6 degrees (er, maybe 2?). It goes a little something like this…
1. Lara decides to take up photography
2. She signs up to flickr and looks for great photographers
3. She comes across Jason Bouwman, a phenomenal photographer
4. Lara finds out that Jason lives in the same small, suburban city as her & is in the same business that she used to be in.
5. Lara gets an email from Jason that says (something like): You should really take a look at this company, Chapeau de gateau, we just developed their brand logo and website.
6. Woah.
