I have built my career on building successful brands. For a period of 12 tireless years, I worked agency-side with some of North America’s most well-known consumer packaged goods companies. During this time I developed an unfettered passion for brand stragegy and design. I was (and still am) one of those extremely annoying people who can’t walk through a supermarket or boutique store without picking up every interesting package.

In 2005, I made the very tough decision to leave my branding career and join my family business, Regal Tent Productions. I was inspired not only by the phenomenal events we have the pleasure to work on, but the culture and philosophy of the company. My father was heavily involved in the start of ISES International and one of the founding members of ISES Toronto. My mother, a self-taught Accounting and IT guru. The rest of the team was as much a part of the family as the ‘blood relatives’.

To continue my Father’s legacy and to immerse herself as quickly as possible in my new industry, I joined the International Special Events Society (ISES) and volunteered to be on the Board of Directors. I have since been honored to fill the positions of Vice President of Programs, President-Elect, and President for Toronto. ISES has also afforded me the opportunity to work with some of the most talented special event professionals in the world.

In my very short tenure in the industry, I’m very proud to be the recipient of the 2007 ISES Toronto Leadership Award. I was also astonished to be honored with the Spirit of the Industry Award 2008 from the Canadian Event Industry Awards – an award that is traditionally bestowed upon industry veterans.

I’m constantly looking for ways to give back to the industry that has given so much to me. I regularly commit my time to speaking at events, providing insights and opinions to industry publications, sitting on awards committees and authoring this award-winning blog to report on trends, insights and inspiration.
